Corn Maze @ Chatfield

Your kids will absolutely love Chatfield’s incredible Corn Maze, one of the most attended mazes in the country. Boasting 12-foot stalks of corn, this year’s maze will include so many twists and turns that it will be the most challenging one yet! The design highlights an intricate picture of the globe in honor of the Botanic Gardens’ sustainability efforts. The maze will include two illuminated observation bridges that provide a bird’s eye view to help you navigate. Kids under 10 should check out the free mini maze and a corn box to roll around in. Barrel train and hay rides will be available on select weekends. For teenagers and adults, there’s a winding haunted trail and haunted house that is sure to send chills down your spine. It’s a can’t-miss October event!

BooTown is a non-scary 5,000 square foot outdoor Halloween maze with fun and exciting scenes and props especially suitable for children between the ages of 2 and 10 years old. In addition to the festive hay maze every child that goes through the attraction will receive a free child’s pumpkin to paint at one of several painting stations. BooTown is unique as it offers the community a daytime children’s alternative to scary and freighting Halloween attractions. Discover “spooktacular” Halloween fun at the Denver Zoo. This year’s Boo at the Zoo theme encourages children to be a hero for the planet and dress up as their favorite superhero while they learn about several ways they can help the environment. Trick-or-treaters visiting more than 30 trick-or-treat stations can enjoy close encounters with the creepy kind, viewing vampire bats, reptiles, spiders and Denver Zoo’s other creatures. Ride the rails back in time through Railroad Halloween Town. Kids can find all kinds of trick or treat activities in the museum’s Railroad Halloween Town: Catch a ride behind our historic locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume. Visit all the Town’s special stops to fill your treat bag. Visit the “not so spooky” haunted house or the Olde Railroaders silly graveyard. You can also get a great shot of the kids’ costumes in the Pumpkin Patch. Or warm your hands around the Hobo Campfire and sit a spell for kid-friendly storytelling. The unique and always kid-friendly Butterfly Pavilion ventures to Oz during Bug A Boo, the attraction’s annual signature Halloween spectacular. The wonderful characters of the Wizard of Oz will join you for a buggy-good time, bringing with them new activities and adventures. Join them as they travel the yellow brick road through the Pavilion to the Wicked Witch’s castle, the Haunted Forest and the Emerald City. The Denver Firefighters Museum invites the whole family to bring their sleeping bag and learn why things still go bump in the night at haunted old Fire Station No. One. This old fashioned sleep over in a haunted fire station built in 1909, is anything but old fashioned. The evening will open with a traditional firehouse spaghetti dinner and progress with spooky movies, titles early on such as Casper the Friendly Ghost, and get spookier as the night wears on. Ghost stories, children’s crafts, Halloween cookie making, and a behind the scenes tour by flashlight will conclude the evening. For those that survive the night, a continental breakfast will be served with juices and hot coffee. The evening is designed for all ages and costumes are encouraged! Reservations are requested and tickets are $25 per person prepaid. 6:00 p.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
